Es gibt wenig Vergleichbares und schon gar keine Schublade, in die man die Musik von GALAHAD stecken k\u00f6nnte. Elemente des Rock, der Musik des Mittelalters und der Klassik verschmelzen mit einem Schu\u00df irisch-keltischer Mystik zu einem eigenwilligen, individuellen Stil. Eine abwechslungsreiche Instrumentierung unterstreicht dabei diese musikalische Vielschichtigkeit.<\/p>\n

Unz\u00e4hlige Live-Events in Deutschland (ua. \u201eNewcomer des Jahres\u201c beim WDR-Folkpreis, West 3 Fernsehen) und dem benachbarten Ausland f\u00fchrten GALAHAD auf Folk-Rock-Festivals (u.a. Euro-Folk-Festival Ingelheim, Little Woodstock, Festival auf der Altburg, Burgfolk M\u00fclheim), diverse Stadt- und Burgfeste, Open-Air- und Hallenkonzerte (u.a. mit JETHRO TULL, Paddy goes to Hollyhead, Magna Carta) sowie auf Matineen und Vernissagen, begleitet von zahlreichen Rundfunkportraits und -interviews.<\/p>\n

Angefangen als Akustikquartett entwickelte sich im Laufe der Zeit der unverwechselbare GALAHAD-Sound. Dies formte ein abwechslungsreiches Repertoire von \u201ekonzertant\u201c bis \u201e\u00e4u\u00dferst tanzbar\u201c mit vereinzelten Anleihen aus Renaissance, Barock, Klassik, Folk und Rock.<\/p>\n

In den Texten werden h\u00e4ufig alte Problematiken aufgearbeitet und in die Gegenwart projiziert, so z.B. in dem St\u00fcck \u201eThe Return of the Piper\u201c, das von der (fiktiven) R\u00fcckkehr des Rattenf\u00e4ngers von Hameln handelt.<\/p>\n

Kritiker bezeichneten die Musik Galahads einmal als \u201eSoundtrack zu einem Live-Rollenspiel\u201c. Und in der Tat f\u00fchlt man sich zur\u00fcckversetzt in eine Zeit, die l\u00e4ngst vergangen ist; dabei verliert die Mischung aus Mittelalter, Rock und keltischer Mystik aber dennoch nicht den Bezug zur Gegenwart.<\/p>\n

Dieses Medieval-Rock-Crossover brachte Galahad u.a. die Auszeichnung \u201eBeste Folkrockband\u201c beim Deutschen Rock- und Pop-Preis im Jahr 2007 und 2014, sowie Vertr\u00e4ge \u00fcber zahlreiche Compilation-CDs u.a. mit Sony Music und BMG ein, deren Sampler \u201eCeltic Circle 2\u201c wochenlang in den Spitzen der Charts in D\u00e4nemark, Schweden und Neuseeland zu finden war und mit 2 goldenen Schallplatten ausgezeichnet wurde. Galahad wurde hierdurch mit z.B. Nightwish, Clannad, Gary Moore, Mike Oldfield, und Loreena McKennitt zu einem der \u201ebest-known artists of the genre\u201c. Und als die Rocklegende Jethro Tull um den Superfl\u00f6tisten Ian Anderson in Galahad einen artverwandten Support-Act fand, kannte die Begeisterung der Fans kaum Grenzen.<\/p>\n

Mal kraftvoll, mal sanft, aber immer ausdrucksstark begeistert Galahads Sound immer wieder aufs Neue.
