If the band's name conjures up images of demolition parties and flying beer bottles, you're completely wrong. The original name was a small garden shed – converted into a recording studio by twins Finn and Jonas, improvising with whatever was at hand. That's exactly where the Dortmund band's musical journey began.
Bruchbude plays honest, raw indie pop that's not polished to a high gloss, but rather has its rough edges. Led by Finn and Jonas, the band is rounded out on stage by Lous on bass and Yuto on piano. Together, they perform songs that are at times self-deprecating, at times socially critical – but always remain authentic. Loud, direct, and without the pretense of dictating how anyone should feel – yet their music manages to feel like a home where every emotion has its place.
From the very first note, you can tell that these four are really into what they do. It's not only fun to listen to them, but also to simply watch them celebrate their music on stage – and this spark spreads to the audience faster than you can say "slum."
Sunday afternoon belongs to the dump.
