Light instead of fireworks

For the 40th anniversary of the Pellenzer Open Air Festival, Plaidter Park was transformed into a small wonderland: On Friday and Saturday evening, the paths between the day parking lot (at the Vulkanpark Info Center) and the campsite were illuminated by the light artist Peter Baur staged.

The illumination wasn't just for our Pellenzer visitors - walkers, families, and curious onlookers could also enjoy the glow free of charge and thus immerse themselves a little bit in our festival atmosphere.

For us, this "Parkleuchten" display was a special enrichment: a quiet, atmospheric anniversary gift – and at the same time our alternative to a large fireworks display. Silent, environmentally friendly, yet full of magic.

A look behind the scenes

Before the first lamps were installed in Plaidter Park, we digitally planned and visualized the illumination – using state-of-the-art technology.
For this purpose, a 3-minute flight through a part of the park was created, created in the Unreal Engine 5.3.

Why are we showing this? Because it's important to us that you see the care and effort we put into preparing such projects.
Such a visualization not only helps to test ideas and convince committees – it also makes it tangible how a concept later becomes a real experience.
